Review:Entrepreneur:The Beginning

Entrepreneur is, you guessed, a business simulator for the OHRRPGCE. Besides a few titles, there are not many simulation games out there. With that being said, I think that Pepsi Ranger set the bar high with this one, even if you spend the first half of your game time figuring out just how the crap to brew a freaking pot of coffee.
Buck Star lost his girl to jock star, rich boy Chet Armstrong. What better way to impress the lady then opening up your own coffee shop and ultimately buying out the competition’s tubular juice bar?

Your goal in Entrepreneur is to spend your money and time wisely. You will have to juggle your expenses while keeping up with the demands from your customers. If it gets too rough, you may have to resort to stealing supplies from the shop down the street, but that’s just part of the fun.
The thing is, I had no idea what I was doing for a good while. Pepsi Ranger did a fantastic job of writing documentation for the game, so I don’t think that is the problem. I think it is that there are just so many options available to you that it may be overwhelming at first. Perhaps it would help if you were walked through the brewing of your first pot of coffee? But how freaking hard is it to make coffee, really?! Regardless, once you get the hang of it, it can be super addictive.
Hats off to Pepsi Ranger for creating a simulation script that works so well. I can’t even imagine the work he must have put forth to make it happen. 8-bit also did a wonderful job on the soundtrack, which adds to the 80s feel of the game.
I definitely look forward to seeing the finished product here.
